The video going viral on the internet shows Bindu was attacked outside Ernakulam City police commissioner’s office with Chilli spray. Bindu Ammini, who created history earlier this year, entering the Sabarimala temple
The accused was later arrested. The accused was identified as Sreenath Padmanabhan (28), a native of Kudiyanmala in Kannur. Bindu has been moved to General Hospital in Ernakulam for treatment.
The Supreme Court has referred its 2018 Sabarimala verdict to a larger bench for review but has not stayed its previous order. The Kerala government has said it would not protect women in traditionally barred age group unless they get a court order.
