Telangana lockdown extended up to May 29
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday announced extension of lockdown in Telangana till May 29, irrespective of nationwide lockdown announced by the Centre till May 17.
All shops in green and orange zones covering 25 districts will be allowed to open from Wednesday.
100% of shops in rural areas – from Mandal to villages – in the districts classified under the green zone and the orange zone will be allowed to open from Wednesday. 50 % of shops in Municipal towns will be allowed to open on a rotational basis.
Night curfew between 7 pm and 6 am will continue across the state, and will be strictly implemented.
Telangana government has decided to open all the liquor shops in the state, except those in containment zones from Wednesday. There would be a hike in liquor prices by 16% on an average. 15 shops in containment zones would not be open.
Telangana Chief Minister said that government would conduct the tenth class exams in May following the orders to be given by the High Court in this matter.
A total of 11 coronavirus cases reported in Telangana on Tuesday taking the total number of reported cases in the state to 1096. 43 recovered patients discharged. The death rate in India was 3.37, it was 2. 64 in Telangana. Active cases in India stood at 69.21%, while in Telangana it is 42.12%. The rate of recovery nationwide was 27.40%, while in Telangana it is 57.30%.
