Coronavirus treatment drug: Hetero launches drug for COVID-19 patients
Generic drugmaker Hetero has received Drug Controller General of India approval to manufacture and sell its generic version of Gilead’s Ramdesivir for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. The generic version will be marked under the brand name ‘Covifor’ in India. Covifor will be available in 100-milligram vial ( injectable) which has to be administrated intravenously in a hospital setting under the supervision of a health care practitioner. The product is being manufactured at its facility in Hyderabad.
DCGI has granted approval for the use of Remidviser in the treatment of suspected or laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in adults and children, hospitalised with severe symptoms of the disease. Covifor will be available in 100-milligram vial ( injectable) which has to be administrated intravenously in a hospital setting under the supervision of a health care practitioner.
